What should you test when accepting a UV printer?

Prepare before testing

• Match the contract, model, serial number, configuration and options.
• Bring routine media, difficult media, production files and measurable quality criteria.
• Confirm power, grounding, ventilation, environment, access and maintenance space.

Machine and nozzle condition

• Inspect shipping condition, ink path, electrical connections and axis motion.
• Print and retain a nozzle test; record its condition before and after cleaning.
• Check emergency stop, limits, UV curing, negative pressure and safety functions.

Test a real job

• Use the buyer’s media and files, not only a supplier-selected demonstration.
• Record cleaning, primer, white, colour, varnish, mode and actual time.
• Inspect small text, gradients, white-colour registration, edges, adhesion and finish.

Repeatability and continuous run

• Repeat the same file and compare position, colour and edges.
• Run for the agreed duration and record stops, alarms and nozzle changes.
• If production uses fixtures, vision or continuous feeding, test a representative batch.

Training and handover

• The assigned operator should start, check, load, print, maintain and shut down independently.
• Confirm software, drivers, profiles, manuals, spares list and service contacts.
• Record pass or fail item by item; define correction and retest for every failure.
